Bandai Namco Reveals CAPTAIN TSUBASA: RISE OF NEW CHAMPIONS in an Action-Packed Trailer

Bandai Namco has just announced a brand-new arcade football video game based on the long-running Captain Tsubasa manga series — Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions — coming to PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.

It's definitely been some time since the last Captain Tsubasa game — as Captain Tsubasa: New Kick Off was released a decade ago, exclusively on Nintendo 3DS.

Securing the Captain Tsubasa license to bring a football game to the western market is a dream come true,” Digital & Content at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe Hervé Hoerdt said in a press release. “Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions isn’t created just for the fans of the manga, but will be enjoyed by football fans all over the world!

At its core, the upcoming Captain Tsubasa title is a sports game with "multiple game modes to keep the football fan on the pitch and off the bench." Rise of New Champions is not your ordinary football game, as each major character — Tsubasa Ozora, Kojiro Hyuga, Genzo Wakabayashi, Taro Misaki, Jun Misugi, Hikaru Matusyama and a yet-to-be-revealed hero — possesses a different set of skills and "power shots."

Be sure to take a look at the intense Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions reveal trailer down below:

Captain Tsubasa: Rise of New Champions will be available for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2020.
