The Alex Hutchinson-Directed JOURNEY TO THE SAVAGE PLANET Gets a Proper

You've seen "launch" trailers, you've seen "announcement" trailers, you've probably even seen "leaked" trailers — but chances are that you have never seen a "butthole" trailer — and the team responsible for Journey to the Savage Planet is here to change that.

During the main chunk of production on any game, developers usually focus on polishing the so-called game loop and gameplay mechanics — but Typhoon Studios is way more ambitious, and the latest trailer for their Journey to the Savage Planet puts the spotlight on one of its core features — buttholes.

Said trailer follows the savage journey of Creative Director Alex Hutchinson — who played a pivotal role in bringing Ubisoft Montreal's Far Cry 4 and Assassin's Creed III to life — as he's doing his best to make sure that the in-game buttholes are the best ones in the business.

In case you're unfamiliar with the behind-the-scenes drama surrounding Ubisoft's cancelled Pioneer, Journey to the Savage Planet is basically its spiritual successor. In Savage Planet, you play as "an employee of Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the 4th Best Interstellar Exploration Company." To survive on the planet in the far-away corner of the universe, you will have to explore its dark secrets and find out if it's actually fit for human habitation.

With Journey to the Savage Planet debuting this Tuesday, be sure to watch the "butthole" trailer down below:

Welcome to the Pioneer Program! In this upbeat & colorful, first-person adventure game you play as the newest recruit to Kindred Aerospace, which proudly touts its rating as the 4th Best interstellar exploration company. Dropped onto an uncharted planet with little equipment and no real plan, you must explore, catalog alien flora and fauna and determine if this planet is fit for human habitation. Onward to adventure! Good luck – and mind the goo!

Journey to the Savage Planet is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store) on January 28, 2020.
