THE OUTER WORLDS Is Coming to Switch This March; The Physical Copy Will Contain Only a Game Code

Publisher Private Division has officially confirmed that one of the most surprising video games of the past 12 months — Obsidian Entertainment's The Outer Worlds — will be finally releasing on Nintendo Switch on the 6th of March.

Unfortunately, the physical version of The Outer Worlds on the Switch will be a digital download code in the box with no game cartridge — so download will be required to play the title. Given that the game's install size is 38 GB on PS4 and XBO, players with a slow internet connection will definitely be in a tough position.

The Nintendo Switch port of the acclaimed Outer Worlds will be priced at $59.99 on the eShop and at retail.

Considering that Obsidian Entertainment is currently working on its first title as part of Xbox Game Studios, The Outer Worlds may be on the last (if not the last) video games created at the award-winning Fallout: New Vegas developer that is coming to Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4.

As a friendly reminder, The Outer Worlds will be getting a major story DLC sometime this year. Take a look:

The Outer Worlds is a new single-player first-person sci-fi RPG from Obsidian Entertainment and Private Division. Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony. As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.

The Outer Worlds is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via the Epic Games Store); coming to Nintendo Switch on March 6, 2020.
