ATOMIC HEART Comes Back to Life in Over 5 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen Gameplay Footage

Although Atomic Heart was officially announced a good couple of years ago, we still know very little about Mundfish's ambitious production that is heavily inspired not only by BioShock and Singularity, but also Doom and Deus Ex.

Fortunately, the Russian studio is seemingly getting ready to reveal new details on the post-apocalyptic title.

Some lucky players have recently had the chance to check out the latest build of Atomic Heart, and Aleksiej Makarenkow was one of those lucky gamers. Some time ago, the streamer shared his impressions of what the game will be like in a lengthy video that features over five minutes of intense Atomic Heart footage.

A quick look at the gameplay suggests that Atomic Heart might fill the void left by BioShock, as Mundish's production will try to recreate the unsettling, violent magic of Irrational Games' classic and its sequels.

In Atomic Heart, the player takes on the role of a secret agent who embarks on a dangerous journey to the heart of the fallen Soviet Union. During his risky mission, the protagonist will face not only the hostile and armed AI, but also zombies and other radioactive beasts that would love to have a taste of his brain.

Atomic Heart will arrive on PS4, XBO and PC, but it's not clear when it will actually hit stores. Check it out:

Atomic Heart is an adventure first-person shooter, events of which unfold in an alternative universe, during the high noon of the Soviet Union. The main character of the game is a special agent, who was sent to a highly secret object by the Soviet government after it went radio silent. Soviet setting with a pitch of insanity, action-packed gameplay and a thrilling story will keep you entertained for the whole duration of your journey into the world of Atomic Heart. Unfold the secrets, restore peace and order, and show the Motherland what you got!

Atomic Heart is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam).
