Take-Two Reiterates That the Next BIOSHOCK Game Is in the Works, but It Won't Launch Anytime Soon
While we've been hearing about the next entry in the Ken Levine-created BioShock series for quite some time now, it seems that the title won't be released anytime soon — as it "will be in development for the next several years," unfortunately.
During its recent earnings call, Take-Two reiterated that Cloud Chamber Studio "has started to work on the next iteration of the globally acclaimed BioShock franchise," but that's everything we know about the game for the time being. Some fans believe that it will be an online-focused title, but it's just a rumor.
According to Take-Two, Cloud Chamber Studio is "a collective of storytellers eager to push the frontlines of interactive entertainment by making unique [...] and thoughtful experiences that engage the world." The newly founded developer is based in San Francisco and Montréal as 2K's first Canadian studio.
As a reminder, the latest big BioShock game, BioShock: Infinite, was released in March 2013 to raving reviews.
If you can't get enough of playing BioShock and happen to be a Nintendo Switch owner, 2016's BioShock: The Collection — which includes not only BioShock Remastered and BioShock 2 Remastered, but also BioShock Infinite: The Complete Edition — may be on the way to Nintendo's best-selling hybrid console.
