Netflix's DIABLO & OVERWATCH Animated Series Are in the Works, Co-President of Activision Blizzard Says
According to Co-President of Activision Blizzard Studios Nick van Dyk, Netflix is currently hard at work on a brand-new animated series based on Diablo, while a small-screen adaptation of the Overwatch franchise is also on the way.
The news originates from the LinkedIn profile of van Dyk, so these two animated series are all but official.
When it comes to Diablo, it's being developed at Netflix, and it will be "rendered in anime style," probably taking some notes from the Castlevania series (the show's third season will debut on Netflix this March).
Van Dyk previously served as a producer on Skylanders Academy, 2016's animated series created by Netflix.
As for the other show, Activision Blizzard "developed and sold an animated series based on Blizzard's Overwatch franchise," and that's everything we know about the Overwatch adaptation for the time being.
The company is also developing a feature-length Call of Duty film, but it's reportedly been put on hold.
