VEEP's Sam Richardson and THIS IS US' Milana Vayntrub Join Ubisoft's WEREWOLVES WITHIN Movie
The VR-exclusive Werewolves Within has never been a big hit with players, but Ubisoft is putting a lot of faith in its potential, as the French publisher's film production arm has revealed the full cast of the upcoming flick based on the IP. As a reminder, the game's movie adaptation was first announced in October 2018.
Werewolves Within will be directed by Josh Ruben (Scare Me), with American writer Mishna Wolff (I'm Down) penning the screenplay. According to Ubisoft, Wolff secured the script deal for her idea while a participant in Ubisoft Film & Television’s Women’s Film and Television Fellowship, "a fellowship program specifically designed to attract and illuminate female voices within the entertainment industry."
The upcoming video game movie's full cast will consist of Sam Richardson (Veep), Milana Vayntrub (This Is Us), George Basil (Crashing), Sarah Burns (Barry), Michael Chernus (Tommy), Catherine Curtin (Orange is the New Black), Wayne Duvall (The Hunt), Harvey Guillen (What We Do In The Shadows), Rebecca Henderson (Russian Doll), Cheyenne Jackson (30 Rock), and Michaela Watkins (Brittany Runs A Marathon).
Described by Ubisoft as a horror comedy, Werewolves Within's plot will resolve around the shenanigans that ensue "when a massive blizzard isolates a small Vermont town, causing simmering resentments to boil over as the oddball townspeople are one by one picked off by a mysterious creature."
Produced by Jason Altman, Margaret Boykin, and Andrew Lieberman for Ubisoft Film & Television, Matt Miller, Natalie Metzger, and Benjamin Wiessner for production company Vanishing Angle, and Sam Richardson, Ruben's original take on Werewolves Within doesn't have an official release date yet.
