Team17, the award-winning British game developer responsible for the beloved Worms and Alien Breed series, has confirmed that an all-new entry in the studio's most famous franchise will be released at some point this year.
"Grab your Bazooka and jump on your Sheep, the Worms are back in 2020 like you’ve never seen them before," Team17 officially announced on Twitter yesterday. The studio also released a new trailer for Worms 2020, and it looks like this year's title will allow the player to wreak havoc in a 3D environment.
Beyond that, we currently know nothing about Worms 2020, but it should change in the coming weeks.
As a reminder, Team17 is not only a game developer, but also a global publisher, responsible for bringing Planet Alpha, Overcooked 2, Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair and Blasphemous to market.
Since the series successful debut in 1995, over 70 million units of Worms games have been sold worldwide.
