In an unexpected turn of events, Ubisoft has just released a brand-new trailer for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, revealing that the main protagonist of the long-gone Splinter Cell series is joining last year's open-world shooter.
According to Ubisoft, Fisher's first adventure on the fictional island of Aurora will begin on March 24, 2020.
Even though plot details have mostly been kept under wraps, fans of Ubisoft's stealth series should be more than happy to hear that Fisher will be voiced once again by Michael Ironside (Top Gun, Starship Troopers).
As a reminder, the Canadian actor's health issues were the main reason why he couldn't lend his voice talents to the spy in the last major entry in the award-winning Splinter Cell saga, 2013's SC: Blacklist.
In the trailer, Fisher also makes fun of the game's tiered weapons, which only proves that he's the real MVP.
Taking into account that Ironside's Fisher also starred in a special Ghost Recon: Wildlands
DLC operation, it's safe to say that the hero's upcoming mission will introduce players to similar bonuses, including not only the Karambit Knife and the SC 4000 assault rifle inspired by Blacklist, but also his iconic goggles.
Without further ado, take a closer look at GR: Breakpoint's crossover with Splinter Cell in the aforementioned trailer — set to the tune of Amon Tobin's evergreen Ruthless from SC: Chaos Theory — down below:
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa. Choose the right alliances and decide how to take down your toughest enemy.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (via Uplay, Origin and the Epic Games Store).
