Considering that Torchlight III — formerly known as Torchlight Frontiers — is coming to PC this summer, it comes as no surprise that American developer Echtra Games has shared some brand-new details on the hack and slash title.
"In the last 3 months, Torchlight III has undergone some massive improvements. We’ve changed from F2P to premium; removed horizontal progression; supported a new, better story; added new bosses; dramatically improved the character leveling, monster, and environment pacing; added the 3rd Act - Echonok; dressed up the new Sharpshooter class; and so much more," Echrta said on its website.
When it comes to the aforementioned Sharpshooter, the new class uses ranged weapons (including a bow) and magical trinkets (allowing her to conduct electrical energy into bullets) to take on enemies from afar.
As a reminder, Torchlight III is no longer a free-to-play production and will be released as a premium title.
Taking into account that both Torchlight and Torchlight 2 were some of the most successful Diablo-esque games in recent history, it will be interesting to see if the reimagined Frontiers lives up to its predecessors.
