After a series of bigger and smaller leaks, Activision has announced Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered — and what's even better, the brand-new version of the 2009 shooter is currently available for PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, Xbox One and PC owners will have to wait until April 30 to play it.
Those who decide to purchase or pre-order the newly revealed/released remaster now will immediately get the UDT Classic Ghost Bundle for use in both Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Warzone.
"Originally developed by Infinity Ward, and now remastered by Beenox, CoD: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered delivers the full story experience with stunning [...] visuals and the latest audio advancements, available first on PS4," Activision Games Blog Lead Writer James Mattone said.
That's right, the remaster of one of the most controversial games in history doesn't feature any multiplayer modes, as Activision doesn't want to split the player base between more than two online-focused CoD titles.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 Campaign Remastered is priced at $19.99 on PS4, XBO and PC. Those who just can't wait to play a reimagined edition of 2011's CoD: MW3 should be more than happy to hear that the American studio is already working on yet another remaster of a CoD video game, at least reportedly.
