Minecraft Dungeons will launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 26, allowing all fans of the groundbreaking original and Diablo-like games to embark on a new adventure in the Mojang-developed world. The standard edition of the next entry in the Minecraft series will be priced at $19.99.

"We initially planned to release Minecraft Dungeons by the end of April," Creative Writer at Mojang Per Landin explained on the game's website. "However, due to the current state of the world, this was no longer possible, as we wanted to guarantee the health and safety of our teams, and empower them to deliver the best possible experience to you, our players. We hope you’ll find it was worth the wait."

If you're not sure if Dungeons is your cup of tea, it will available for XBO and PC via Xbox Game Pass on launch day. Given that subscribers also gain access to over 100 games for $9.99 a month, it's worth a look.

At its core, Minecraft Dungeons is a classic dungeon crawler featuring a plethora of action-packed, treasure-stuffed levels. Although the player will be able to explore one dungeon after another on their own, up to four Dungeons players can battle the forces of the evil Arch-Illager together online or in couch co-op.

For $29.99, players can also pre-order Minecraft Dungeons: The Hero Edition to get a Hero Pass that contains a Hero Cape, two player skins, and a chicken pet. The Hero Edition also includes two upcoming DLC packs.

Explore randomly generated worlds and build amazing things from the simplest of homes to the grandest of castles. Play in creative mode with unlimited resources or mine deep into the world in survival mode, crafting weapons and armour to fend off the dangerous mobs. This version will let you play together across different devices, access a multitude of content through the in-game Store and get all future game updates.
