TOM CLANCY'S GHOST RECON: BREAKPOINT Gets Six-Hour Trial & Friend Pass FAR CRY 4–Style
Ubisoft is trying their hardest to make people interested in Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint again after its catastrophically bad launch last year — as the ever-evolving shooter gets a free trial and friend pass similar to the one in Far Cry 4. Both ways to give the game a fair try are available for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
During the aforementioned trial, newcomers will have the chance to experience everything Breakpoint has to offer — including the first mission of the Splinter Cell–themed Deep State campaign — for six hours straight.
After that, the trail expires, but all your progress will be saved and carry over should you decide to purchase the full game. Thankfully, if you participated in one of the recent free weekends with the latest Ghost Recon instalment for less than six hours, you can still use your remaining time in the aforementioned trial.
Those who purchased the game can partner up with up to three friends — who don't own the game — in co-op for free as well, taking advantage of the Far Cry 4-esque Friend Pass from now until June 16, 2020.
According to Ubisoft, "the six-hour time limit pauses while using the Friend Pass, so if you spend all your time in co-op [...], you’ll still have six hours of the free trial for yourself" — which means that you can play it for 12 hours without spending a single penny (only if you have a good friend who purchased Breakpoint). To learn more about the game's co-op play and community, check out the trailers down below:
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is a military shooter set in a diverse, hostile, and mysterious open world that you can play entirely solo or in four-player co-op. Injured, without support, and hunted down by ex-Ghosts, you must fight to survive while lost in Auroa. Choose the right alliances and decide how to take down your toughest enemy.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (via Uplay, Origin and the Epic Games Store).
