Ellie Reunites With Joel in Latest Batch of Screenshots for Naughty Dog's THE LAST OF US PART II
To make the wait for Naughty Dog's recently delayed The Last of Us Part II a little bit easier, the team at Sony has officially released a fresh bunch of screenshots for the highly anticipated PlayStation 4–exclusive production. As a reminder, the long-awaited sequel to 2013's hit game doesn't have a new release date.
The Last of Us Part II is not the only title that has been pushed back by Sony, as Marvel's Iron Man VR won't make the May release window as well — and that second game is also waiting for its next release date.
The never-before-seen images focus mostly on Ellie and Joel, who will return in The Last of Us Part II to continue their grim journey across the post-pandemic United States. According to Naughty Dog, the title is a revenge story, inspired by 1986's Paradise Lost, a film about the murders of three boys in Arkansas.
Fans of the series should be happy to hear that The Last of Us Part II is not the only project set in the Naughty Dog–created universe that's currently in the works, as Craig Mazin — the renowned creator of Chernobyl — is developing a big-budget TV series based on the award-winning original game for HBO.
Without further ado, be sure to take a closer look at the brutal world of The Last of Us Part II down below:
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.
The Last of Us Part II is coming to PlayStation 4.
