DYING LIGHT 2 Lead Producer Explains How Recent Delay Will Affect Techland's Upcoming Production

Just like almost every major upcoming video game, Techland's Dying Light 2 has been pushed back from its original release date, but fans of the first instalment shouldn't be worried about the state of the open-world RPG. Apperently, the delay will allow the team to further explore the idea of the title's "narrative sandbox."
During a recent interview with Official PlayStation Magazine, lead producer Eugen Harton explained how the decision to reschedule the ambitious game's release date will affect the Dying Light 2 development process.
"Delaying the game opened opportunities to nail down the story part of the game, choices our players can make, as well as up the level of open-world opportunities that player will face," he said.
"Building this world takes time and we want Dying Light 2 to be the evolution of what we started with in the first game," Harton concluded. Given that the so-called "narrative sandbox" may revolutionise the RPG genre — as your in-game decisions will reportedly impact the main Dying Light 2 playground in more than one way — Techland will definitely not waste the added time to polish its biggest title to date.
As a reminder, Dying Light 2 will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC sometime this year, while Techland is also working on a next-gen port of the game that is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Dying Light 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam) in 2020.
