OBSERVER Maker Bloober Team Is Working on New Big-Budget Game With Leading Publisher
Bloober Team — the award-winning video game developer responsible for Observer, Blair Witch, and the Layers of Fear series — is officially working on a new big-budget project that will be released by one of the world's leading publishers. Just like last year's Blair Witch, the title will be based on an existing franchise.
According to Bloober, the Polish studio recently acquired a license to produce an "AAA" (or "indie AAA") video game that will serve as a new entry in one of the aforementioned publisher's already existing series.
Quite interestingly, its production budget will be larger than Bloober's share capital of PLN 30.6 million.
Unfortunately for fans of Bloober's previous (and most of the time, pulse-pounding) work, the first concrete details on the mysterious project won't be released until the end of the year. As a reminder, the company's next major video game — the long-awaited Medium — is still scheduled to hit stores at some point in 2020.
In the meantime, take a closer look at the Switch port of Blair Witch — coming this summer — down below:
It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods…
Blair Witch is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam and GOG); coming to Nintendo Switch this summer.
