GEARS OF WAR Spin-Off GEARS TACTICS Gets Intense Gameplay Trailer and Officially Goes Gold

Gears Tactics has gone gold, which means that the works on the game are finished and the team at Splash Damage (Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory, Brink) can focus on polishing the title's "day one" patch and its post-launch support. Gears Tactics is coming to PC on April 28, but its Xbox port(s) will be released later this year.

At its core, Gears Tactics is a marriage of XCOM: Enemy Unknown and the original Gears of War, taking place 12 years before the main events of the classic cover shooter. As Gabe Diaz and his team, players will put their strategic thinking to a good use, doing whatever it takes to outsmart Ukkon, the Locust army's leader.

What's even better, the upcoming strategy game will be available on Xbox Game Pass for PC at launch.

Although Splash Damage has just finished the works on Gears Tactics, the renowned developer is already producing a new Google Stadia–exclusive video game, but it probably won't be released anytime soon.

During Tuesday's Inside Xbox, Microsoft released a new trailer for Gears Tactics, so check it out down below:

Gears Tactics is the fast-paced, turn-based strategy game from one of the most-acclaimed video game franchises – Gears of War. Outnumbered and fighting for survival, recruit and command your squad to hunt down an evil mastermind who makes monsters

Gears Tactics is coming to PC (via Steam and the Microsoft Store) on April 28, 2020.
