Codemasters' F1 2020 Is Coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC & Google Stadia This Summer
Codemasters has just announced an all-new entry in its long-running F1 series — titled F1 2020 — as the fast-approaching racing game will be available for PS4, Xbox One, Google Stadia and PC (via Steam & DVD) on the 10th of July. F1 2020 is the first game of the Formula One World Championship to launch on Stadia.
F1 2020 will introduce a major new game mode, My Team. According to Codemasters, it will allow players to "experience F1 2020 as a driver-manager, and it’s going to offer you a unique insight into [...] F1!"
Rest assured, the aforementioned My Team is not replacing the well-established Career mode, as both ways to play F1 2020 offline will reportedly be available at launch. In this year's instalment, "players can choose from the original full 22-race season, and shorter 10- and 16-race season options, which now include Vietnam’s Hanoi Circuit and Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands."
In the season when Lewis Hamilton could equal his record of seven F1 drivers’ titles, the studio has prepared a special Michael Schumacher Deluxe Edition which comes with exclusive content and 3 days’ early access.
"As huge fans of F1, we continue to innovate and develop game modes that bring players even closer to the real-world sport," F1 2020 Game Director Lee Mather said in a press release. "We’ve also added new modes to enable more casual players to get up to speed more easily, and we’ve brought back split-screen for social play with friends. The additions reduce both the difficulty and time barrier to entry while retaining the car handling that our simulation players love," Mather explained.
With F1 2020 releasing this summer, we will definitely learn a whole lot more about Codemasters' next big thing in the coming weeks. In the meantime, take a closer look at the game's reveal trailer down below:
