After months of waiting, publisher Bandai Namco has finally announced the long-awaited Nintendo Switch version of Spike Chunsoft's fighting extravaganza Jump Force — and the title will debut on the console sometime this year. Sadly, the only thing we know about its release date is the fact that it's coming "soon."
Jump Force is on the way to Switch as Jump Force Deluxe Edition. This particular version of 2019's hit includes not only the base game, but also nine additional characters — such as Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez (from Bleach), Biscuit Krueger (from Hunter x Hunter), Toushirou Hitsugaya (from Bleach), Katsuki Bakugou (from My Hero Academia), Trafalgar Law (from One Piece), and Madara Uchiha (from Naruto) — their respective costumes, and 4 days of early access to play with those anime and manga fighters before everyone else.
Although Jump Force's roster of playable characters is already rather enormous — it features 50 distinct fighters — Bandai Namco revealed today the game's Character Pass 2, which will be priced at $17.99.
The pass will introduce five never-before-seen characters, and Shoto Todoroki from My Hero Academia will be the first all-new fighter. Todoroki will join the battle at some point this spring. When it comes to the other heroes, they are from the Hunter X Hunter, YuYu Hakusho, Bleach, and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure universes.
Without further ado, take a closer look at the fast-approaching Nintendo Switch port of Jump Force — currently sitting at a mediocre 60% score on Metacritic — in the action-packed trailer down below:
The most famous Manga heroes are thrown into a whole new battleground: our world. Uniting to fight the most dangerous threat, the Jump Force will bear the fate of the entire humankind. Create your own avatar and jump into an original Story Mode to fight alongside the most powerful Manga heroes from DRAGON BALL Z, ONE PIECE, NARUTO, BLEACH, HUNTER X HUNTER, YU-GI-OH!, YU YU HAKUSHO, SAINT SEIYA and many others. Or head to the Online Lobby to challenge other players and discover lots of modes and activities.
Jump Force is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam); coming to Nintendo Switch "soon."
