OBSERVER: SYSTEM REDUX Is a Remaster of 2017's Original; Next-Gen Horror Launches This Year

Bloober Team has released the first trailer for Observer: System Redux, confirming that the upcoming title is a full-blown remaster of the 2017 classic that is coming to two next-gen consoles — PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X — this holiday season. According to the studio, fans of the series should also keep an eye on System Redux, as it will feature entirely new story beats that weren't even mentioned in the original game.

Just like the award-winning original, the fast-approaching System Redux will allow the player to take on the role of detective Dan Lazarski — played by the late Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner) — and gather information by plugging into the neural implants of both criminals and victims. The remaster also stars Polish musician and actor Arkadiusz Jakubik portraying "a veteran struggling with early model cybernetics."

The first Observer is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Quite surprisingly, the horror game's Xbox version still is the highest-rated title in Bloober's history, sitting at 86% on Metacritic.

System Redux is not the only project the Cracow-based studio is currently working on, as Bloober's Medium is also releasing at some point this year. As a reminder, the Blair Witch makers are officially producing an all-new entry in a global publisher's IP — but we know literally nothing about that project at the moment.

With System Redux coming to PS5 and XSX in 2020, we should learn a whole lot more about its graphical enhancements in the near (yet surprisingly sci-fi) future. Take a look at its reveal trailer down below:
