Bloober Team Announces That a LAYERS OF FEAR Movie Is In the Works at Project Nerd Boss
Polish developer Bloober Team — the award-winning studio responsible for Observer and Blair Witch — has officially announced that a movie adaptation of the Layers of Fear franchise is in the works at Los Angeles–based Project Nerd Boss. Sadly, all that's currently known is that it has been in pre-production for two years.
The horror series consists of two big titles — 2016's Layers of Fear and 2019's Layers of Fear 2. Considering that both games were pretty horrific, it's safe to say that the upcoming movie will also be quite gruesome.
At its core, the first game was a "psychedelic horror game with a heavy focus on story and exploration," allowing you to "delve deep into the mind of an insane painter and discover the secret of his madness."
Although Bloober has not revealed any plans to make a sequel to Layers of Fear 2, the Cracovian company is definitely a busy one, simultaneously developing three big-budget projects: the recently revealed Observer: System Redux, a brand-new entry in a leading publisher's game series, and also the mysterious Medium.
As a friendly reminder, the long-awaited Nintendo Switch version of Bloober's sleeper hit Blair Witch will make its debut at some point this summer. The fast-approaching port will be a self-published production.
