RESIDENT EVIL 2 Voice Actress Seemingly Suggests That Claire Redfield May Return in All-New Game
The full-blown remake of 1999's Resident Evil 3 made its debut earlier this month, but it looks like the series will return sooner rather than later — as Resident Evil 2 voice actress Stephanie Panisello might have spilled the beans on the franchise's future. Before you kick your hype engines into gear, it's worth remembering that Capcom has yet to reveal any plans to make a new game with Panisello's Claire Redfield in a lead role.
During last week's podcast produced by Residence of Evil, the main stars of the most recent Resident Evil remakes — including Nick Apostolides (Leon Kennedy), Nicole Tompkins (Jill Valentine), Stephanie Panisello (Claire), Jeff Schine (Carlos Oliveira), Jelene Anderson (Ada Wong), and Neil Newbon (Nikolai Zinoviev and the Nemesis) — had the chance to discuss their experiences working on Capcom's best-selling game series.
Unexpectedly, Panisello basically confirmed that Claire will make an appearance in a new title while talking with the RE3 cast. "I know I didn’t know you guys personally, although I do feel like I’ve worked with one of you, but I think it’s a project that hasn’t come out yet, so I won’t say anything," the actress said.
Considering that production on a reimagining of Resident Evil 4 has just started, it's safe to say the Japanese studio is not even thinking about assembling the game's voice cast at the moment (and, maybe even more importantly, the classic original was focused solely on the thrilling adventures Leon and Ada).
As a reminder, Claire (and her brother) will be the Johannes Roberts–helmed Resident Evil remake's central figures, at least according to insider Daniel Richtman. Check out the aforementioned video down below:
