DICE Is Ending Support For STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT II as Final Update Takes Us Back to Scarif

No one's ever really gone (yikes), but after almost three years, Electronic Arts and DICE are officially ending their active support for Star Wars: Battlefront II — one of the most controversial video games in the Swedish developer's history. The shooter hit stores in November 2017, and it has had regular updates ever since.

Tomorrow, the final Star Wars: Battlefront II update will be released, adding Scarif to the list of available Age of Rebellion locations. For those unfamiliar with the expansion's main setting, the tropical planet debuted in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and was a DLC map in DICE's original Battlefront. Scarif will be added as a new playable map on Co-Op Missions, Supremacy, Instant Action, Heroes Vs. Villains, and Hero Showdown.

As of now, the full list of Age of Rebellion planets includes Yavin, Death Star II, Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, Kessel, and Jabba’s Palace. Unfortunately, fans should finally forget about getting any Mustafar and Kashyyyk maps.

That's not all, as Star Wars: Battlefront II will be getting new Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker–thmed skins for Rey and the Emperor. Darth Maul will also have an (robotic) appearance based on the Rebels TV series.

"From everyone on the Star Wars Battlefront II team, we thank you. Thank you for being a part of everything we’ve done, and for being the best community we could have asked for," EA Community Manager Ben Walke said on the game's forum. Take a look at Battlefront II's final update down below:

Embark on an endless Star Wars journey from the best-selling Star Wars video game franchise of all time. Experience rich multiplayer battlegrounds across all three eras - prequel, classic and new trilogy - or rise as a new hero and discover an emotionally gripping single-player story spanning thirty years.

Star Wars Battlefront II is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Origin).
