THE LAST KINGDOM's Magnus Bruun Will Play Male Eivor In Ubisoft's ASSASSIN'S CREED VALHALLA
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
Category: Assassin's Creed Valhalla
Just like Ubisoft Quebec's Assassin's Creed Odyssey, its recently revealed sequel will allow fans to play as either a male or a female character — named Eivor, which means "The Defender of Island," in accordance with the Old Norse. Ubisoft has officially hired two Danish actors to portray Valhalla's main protagonists.
The male version of Eivor is played by Magnus Bruun — the hero of the electrifying Assassin's Creed Valhalla announcement trailer — who's best known for portraying Cnut on Netflix's The Last Kingdom.
As for the female Eivor, she's brought to life by Cecilie Stenspil, whose career includes theatre, movies and TV. Unfortunately for her fans, Ubisoft's marketing strategy has been focused solely on the male hero so far.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla begins with Eivor’s clan leaving their home in Norway. According to Thierry Noël — historian and inspirational content advisor of the Editorial Research Unit on the game — they left because they wanted to "discover a new land and find resources. In the ninth century, the people of Scandinavia had recently discovered the use of sails and absolutely mastered them. This helped them travel all over the world. At the end of the Roman period, the world was fragmented, and the Vikings played a very important role in reconnecting it, because they went nearly everywhere."
If you just can't wait to learn more about Assassin's Creed Valhalla — and see it in action for the very first time — the open-world title will be showcased during the next Inside Xbox on Thursday, May 7 at 8AM PT.
