Naughty Dog's The Last of Us Part II hasn't even launched yet, and it already is one of the most controversial video games in history — fortunately for fans, the long-delayed production will finally make its global debut on the 19th of June. Quite interestingly, the sequel was supposed to hit stores in February (and later in May).
As a reminder, plenty of The Last of Us Part II spoilers have found their way online, so avoiding all social media platforms like the plague is probably a smart move if you don't want the game to be spoiled for you.
According to Director Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us Part II is a revenge tale, with Joel and Ellie facing their ghosts of the past throughout the story. Reportedly, the fast-approaching title will focus more human enemies — with the mysterious Seraphites taking centre stage — rather than the zombie-like Infected.
Considering that The Last of Us Part II has gone gold — which means that the base version of the brutal adventure is finished — it's safe to say that the title will hit stores next month after four years of waiting.
Without further ado, take a closer look at the intense story trailer for The Last of Us Part II down below:
Five years after their dangerous journey across the post-pandemic United States, Ellie and Joel have settled down in Jackson, Wyoming. Living amongst a thriving community of survivors has allowed them peace and stability, despite the constant threat of the infected and other, more desperate survivors.
The Last of Us Part II is coming to PlayStation 4 on June 19, 2020.
