Square Enix Shares New NIER REPLICANT Screenshots That Give Us Better Look at Its Reimagined World

Publisher Square Enix has revealed three never-before-seen screenshots for the brand-new version of NieR Replicant — technically titled NieR Replicant Ver.1.22474487139 — showcasing the reimagined world of the original production. As a friendly reminder, NieR Replicant was released exclusively for PlayStation 3 in 2010.

According to NieR director Yoko Taro — who also oversees production on the new edition of Replicantthe recently announced title is "much more than a remaster," as his next big thing will reportedly satisfy both newcomers and fans of 2017's NieR: Automata (which served as a direct sequel to the first NieR).

A press release sent out to promote the Applibot-developed NieR: Replicant reveals that the upcoming remake will invite players "into a dark, apocalyptic world as they join a brother’s captivating quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease - a quest which will in turn make them question everything,"

NieR: Replicant is not the only big-budget project set in the evergreen NieR universe that is currently in the works at Square, as the company is also producing a mobile entry in the series — NieR Re[in]carnation.

Wait no more, and be sure to take a closer look at three all-new NieR: Replicant screenshots down below:
