MAFIA Twitter Account Breaks Two-Year Silence Suggesting MAFIA II: DEFINITIVE EDITION Is Coming

Yesterday, the official Twitter account for Mafia woken up after nearly 2 years of inactivity, offering a single tweet that would make the Fast & Furious cast proud — "Family" — suggesting that the future of 2K's IP will be unveiled soon. Although nothing has been confirmed yet, chances are that Mafia II will get the remaster treatment, as the publisher is seemingly getting ready to announce its long-rumoured "Definitive Edition."

Considering that Mafia II: Definitive Edition has already leaked on a couple of different occasions (thanks to South Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee and the Taiwanese Game Rating Board), it's safe to say that the sequel's current-gen port will be officially announced by 2K sooner rather than later.

According to the Taiwanese committee, Mafia III: Definitive Edition is also a real thing, so it looks like fans of Mafia will be able to play two "complete editions" of 2010's Mafia II and 2016's Mafia III in the near future.

The long-awaited Mafia II: Definitive Edition will possibly include the base game and its three story DLC — The Betrayal of Jimmy, Jimmy's Vendetta, and Joe's Adventures, while Mafia III: Definitive Edition will probably feature the 2016 video game and the following expansions: Stone Unturned, Sign of Times, and Faster, Baby!

As a reminder, 2K's The BioShock Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection are coming to Nintendo Switch on the 29th of May. Take a look at the aforementioned tweet down below:
