REALMYST: MASTERPIECE EDITION Is Coming to Nintendo Switch on May 21, Cyan Worlds Reveals

Cyan Worlds' realMyst: Masterpiece Edition will finally arrive on the Nintendo Switch on the 21st of May, and you will be able to pre-order the fast-approaching port starting later today for a limited-time introductory price of $15.99. As a reminder, the acclaimed title is currently available for PC and Android and iOS devices.

At its core, 2014's realMyst: Masterpiece Edition is an updated version of 2000's realMyst, including not only a new edition of the beloved remaster of the 1993 original, but also Rime, the classic's sixth playable Age.

According to Cyan, Masterpiece Edition is not "your father's Myst! It’s been 20 years since Myst became your world, and there's never been a better time to revisit the Ages. This newly refreshed and rebuilt version of realMyst is all-things Myst, but [...] more real. You can explore anywhere, unfettered, and in realtime! Pick your own path through the forest on Myst Island. Listen to the crickets as the sun sets in the Channelwood Age. Relax in the falling leaves in the Selenitic Age. Spin around for a full panoramic tour of Sirrus’ throne room. Seek shelter from the thunderstorm in Stoneship Age."

Considering that realMyst: Masterpiece Edition features a full day and night cycle, advanced graphics, a new flashlight mechanic, and a remastered score, fans of the series should definitely keep an eye on the title.

The Switch port of realMyst: Masterpiece Edition is not the only big project set in the ever-expanding Myst world currently in the works, as X-Men: First Class writer Ashley Edward Miller is set to pen a full-blown television series based on Myst. The show will be produced by Village Roadshow Entertainment Group.
