GHOSTRUNNER Will Be Published 505 Games; MIRROR'S EDGE–Like Game Receives Fast-Paced Trailer
Mechanic: Bartosz Sobczak
After that sweet demo, many fans of Mirror's Edge and Dying Light surely can't wait to play Ghostrunner, a completely original first-person adventure game set in a cyberpunk world ruled by shadowy figures and syndicates. Although its release date is a big unknown, the title has found a global publisher — 505 Games.
That's right, 505 Games and Polish publisher All in! Games have officially teamed-up to bring Ghostrunner to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC sometime this year (with its Nintendo Switch port launching at a later date).
According to All in! Games COO Piotr Żygadło, 505 Games' first investment in Ghostrunner (€3,25 million, with a possible €11,25 extension) will allow Cracow-based studio One More Level (with Slipgate Ironworks and 3D Realms' help) to fully realise their vision of a pulse-pounding slasher featuring deadly one-hit kills.
When it comes to the aforementioned demo version of Ghostrunner, it has already been downloaded over 130,000 times, already making it one of the biggest successes of the young studio and its local publisher.
During a recent IGN Summer of Gaming livestream, All in! Games showcased Ghostrunner in all its glory in a never-before-seen gameplay trailer and 16 minutes of action-packed footage; focused mostly on the title's colourful (yet extremely dangerous) world, which seemingly has a lot in common with the first System Shock.
With Ghostrunner making its debut later this year, we should learn a whole lot more about the Dishonored-like production in the not-too-distant future. In the meantime, take a closer look at the game down below:
Enter an intense cyberpunk world and experience fierce, dynamic combat! Conquer your enemies in the physical world and in cyberspace. Hunt for answers in humanity’s last remaining shelter. Ascend humanity’s last remaining shelter, a great tower-city. The tower is torn by violence, poverty, and chaos. Conquer your enemies, discover the secrets of the superstructure and your own origin and obtain the power to challenge The Keymaster.
Ghostrunner is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC (via Steam) in 2020; will arrive on Nintendo Switch at a later date.
