STAR WARS: SQUADRONS Flies High in Over 5 Minutes of Never-Before-Seen Gameplay Footage

As promised earlier this week, a new Star Wars: Squadrons trailer was released at EA PLAY, giving us our first real chance to take a look at this first-person adventure set right after the events of Return of the Jedi.
You read it right, Star Wars: Squadrons won't feature a third-person perspective, making ship-to-ship space combat much more personal and exciting. If the newly revealed footage is anything to go by, fans of 1994's Star Wars: X-Wing and Star Wars: TIE Fighter should definitely keep an eye on the EA Motive–created game.
Although nothing is set in stone yet, it seems that Star Wars: Squadrons will launch with six maps. According to the game's official website, the title will allow the player to battle the New Republic or Imperial fleet while exploring the following locations: Yavin Prime, Esseles, Nadiri Dockyards, Sissubo, Galitan, and Zavian Abyss.
Star Wars: Squadrons also supports cross-play, which means that PS4, XBO, and PC gamers will be able to play together and form their own squads (of five people) in the Story, Dogfight, and Fleet Battles modes.
Without further ado, learn more about EA Motive's original take on Star Wars: Rogue Squadron down below:
The second Death Star is gone, but starfighter pilots unite on both sides of the Galactic Civil War as it rages on in STAR WARS: Squadrons. Fight alongside your squadron to tip the scales in monumental fleet battles and compete in intense 5 vs. 5 dogfights. Get into the cockpit and triumph as a team by completing tactical objectives across known and never-before-seen battlefields, including the gas giant of Yavin Prime and the shattered moon of Galitan.
Star Wars: Squadrons is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC (via Steam, Origin, and the EGS), and VR devices (including PS VR and Oculus Rift) on October 2, 2020.
