It turns out that SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated won't be the only major 3D platformer launching in 2020, as Activision has just announced a sequel to 1998's Crash Bandicoot: Warped.
Titled Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the newly announced fourth numbered entry in the long-running Crash Bandicoot game series will make its big debut on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on the 2nd of October.
The fast-approaching platformer is being developed at two award-winning developers: Toys for Bob (Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy) and Beenox (Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled). According to the publisher, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will start exactly where the original trilogy — made by Naughty Dog — left off.
The premise of the game is relatively simple: "Neo Cortex and Dr. Nefarious Tropy have escaped their interdimensional prison and in doing so have fractured the boundaries of time and space." With the duo wreaking havoc wherever they go, Crash and Coco will team-up once again to stop their evil plans.
As you've probably already guessed, Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will allow you to manipulate the fourth dimension of space, "flip your world upside down, and bend the rules of reality as you master the four powerful quantum masks." Take a look at the game's first trailer and screenshots down below:
