THE OUTLAST TRIALS Is a 4-Player Survival Horror Coming to Steam and EGS in Early 2021

Canadian developer and publisher Red Barrels has shared some new details on The Outlast Trials, confirming that the third entry in its bone-chilling series is a survival horror that can be played solo or with up to four friends in co-op mode. According to the studio, "it’s always better to shit your pants in good company."
Although The Outlast Trials probably will get a full-blown console port down the line, the first-person title's only officially announced version is coming to PC (via Steam and the Epic Games Stores) "early next year."
Unlike the first two Outlast games, the more online-focused threequel won't force you to run away from a bunch of mad cultists and avoid their deadly traps. Instead, The Outlast Trials will give you a unique chance to somehow survive the gut-twisting (sometimes literally) experiments of the fictional Murkoff Corporation.
Take a look at the full synopsis for The Outlast Trials: "Set in the era of the Cold War, human guinea pigs are involuntarily recruited by the good folks at the Murkoff Corporation to test advanced methods of brainwashing & mind control. In a world of distrust [...] and violence, your morals will be challenged, your endurance tested, and your sanity crushed. All in the name of progress, science, and profit."
With The Outlast Trials releasing in the coming months, we should learn more about Red Barrels's first foray into the mainstream co-op gaming soon. In the meantime, check out the game's all-new trailer down below:
