Techland has finally revealed some new details on the long-awaited Hellraid DLC for 2015's Dying Light, and what's even better, the expansion is officially coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on July 23, 2020.
For those unfamiliar with Hellraid, it was originally supposed to be the award-winning Call of Juarez studio's next original IP. Although the first-person RPG was cancelled two years ago, it will return reimagined this summer, tasking Dying Light players with finding a means of escape from a dark, demon-infested dungeon.
Dying Light - Hellraid will allow you to "slay brand-new demonic enemies with medieval swords, axes, and hammers as you venture through stone corridors and dimly lit chambers." Hellraid will be fully playable alone, but you will also be able to gather a party of up to 4 survivors and kill monsters in co-op.
If you just can't wait to play Techland's first major project since the original Dying Light, Hellraid's closed beta is live now. To take part in the ongoing testing, all you need to do is pre-order the fast-approaching DLC — currently priced at $9,99 — on Steam. Be swift, as the beta won't be available after the 29th of June.
As a friendly reminder, the Polish developer is also working on Dying Light 2, but it's safe to say that the sequel won't make its 2020 release window, as the title recently lost its narrative designer, Chris Avellone.
