THE CUPHEAD SHOW Sneak Peek Focuses on the Old-School Influences of the Netflix Series

Netflix has shared a wonderful first look at The Cuphead Show, the streaming giant's new TV series based on "the Dark Souls of 2D platformer games" and one of the most best-reviewed indie titles of the past decade.

For those unfamiliar with Cuphead, the Studio MDHR Entertainment–developed 2D platformer was released in September 2017 to overwhelmingly positive reviews, currently sitting at a great 88% score on Metacritic.

In Cuphead, the player takes on the role of the titular hero or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) and embark on a strikingly beautiful— yet immensely challenging — adventure set in a colourful world, inspired by the so-called "rubber hose" style of animation used in Walt Disney and Fleischer Studios' classic cartoons.

According to Netflix, The Cuphead Show follows "the misadventures of the impulsive Cuphead and his cautious but persuadable brother Mugman in this animated series based on the hit video game."
