Japanese developer and publisher Inti Creates has announced that Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 will be available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) on July 10; priced at $14.99.
To celebrate the official reveal of Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2's release date, the Ichikawa-based studio has also shared a never-before-seen trailer for the fast-approaching sequel, putting the spotlight on its co-op mode that will allow two players to kill various awful monsters together, for the first time in the series.
That's not all, as Inti Creates has finally shone a light on Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2's main cast, and fans of the franchise should be happy to hear that Zangetsu will be a playable character once again. In the game, the protagonist will be more of a team player, as he will join forces not only with all characters from the fan-favourite original, but also three all-new heroes, including the spear-wielding exorcist Dominique.
It's worth remembering that the latest entry in the Bloodstained series — ArtPlay's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night — was released in June 2019 to positive reviews (currently sitting at a sweet 83% score on Metacritic)
Without further ado, take a look at the second trailer for Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 down below:
Koji Igarashi and Inti Creates are back with more retro sword-and-whip action! Curse of the Moon 2 brings classic 2D action and a dark, 8-bit aesthetic together with modern playability. The multiple-scenario structure of the previous title returns with an epic new story supervised by IGA (Koji Igarashi) himself. Players take control of Zangetsu, a swordsman from the far east who bears a deep grudge against demonkind and the alchemists who summoned them. Zangetsu must battle his way to the demonic stronghold, but he doesn't have to do it alone! Zangetsu can ally himself with a brand new cast of characters he meets along the way and add them to the playable roster.
Bloodstained: Curse of the Moon 2 is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam) on July 10, 2020.
