SUCCUBUS Will Launch Next Year; AGONY Spin-Off's Playable Prologue Will Be Released Soon
Although Agony was a rather divisive title, Madmind Studio is not planning to abandon its gruesome series anytime soon, as the release window of Succubus — a spin-off to the 2018 horror — has been revealed.
According to the Bydgoszcz-based developer and publisher, Succubus will enter its beta phase in December. After the final round of testing, Madmind is hoping to launch the finished version of the bloody first-person game in Q2-Q3 2021, so at some point between the beginning of April and end of September of next year.
To make the wait for Madmind's next bit thing a little less painful, a prologue to the Scorn-like production will be released in the near future. The free demo will allow players to freely explore a small fragment of the game's nightmarish world while having some fun with the impressive powers of Vydija, the titular Succubus.
It's worth remembering that Succubus is not the only first-person horror the team at Madmind is currently developing, as the studio's Paranoid — which was revealed back in November 2018 — is still in the works.
Quite interestingly, Madmind is aiming to make its stock market debut on the Warsaw Stock Exchange at the turn of the year. Considering that Succubus is 70% done, it's safe to say that the Agony spin-off's official release date will be announced in the coming months to coincide with the expected start of share trading.
You are the Succubus – a wild and lustful demon who rejected the role of the queen of the infernal abyss. With the disappearance of the legitimate rulers of Hell, the remaining demons recognized Nimrod as their ruler, because he was the only soul who could dominate the mind of the mighty Beast. By raising his new empire from the corpses of sinners, the new king, along with his new queen – you – managed to control the chaos left by former rulers. The life of luxury and walking on rugs sewn from the skins of martyrs was not for you though, and so you have chosen a life in the wilderness.
Succubus is coming to PC (via Steam) in Q2-Q3 2021.
