THE OMEN–Inspired DARK PICTURES: LITTLE HOPE Gets New Release Date and Story Trailer

Supermassive Games' highly anticipated teen horror The Dark Pictures: Little Hope will finally arrive on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam) on the 30th of October, publisher Bandai Namco has confirmed.

For those unfamiliar with The Dark Pictures: Little Hope, The Omen, Hellraiser, and The Witch–inspired video game was supposed to make its debut at some point this summer. Unfortunately, the British studio recently announced that its next big thing had been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In the upcoming sequel to Man of Medan, the player will decide the fate of five characters — four teenagers (one played by Midsommar actor Will Poulter) and their professor — while exploring the titular town of Little Hope. According to the studio, the new title will be much more coherent and enjoyable than its predecessor.

"As well as the story, setting and cast we’ve been focusing on some improved features based on feedback from the Dark Pictures community," The Dark Pictures: Little Hope Director Pete Samuels explained. "For example, the team has included context-sensitive icons for interacting with objects in the world and QTE alerts that tell players when one is coming and the action they need to perform. We’ve also added a floating camera in some parts of the game to allow you to fully control your view of the spooky surroundings, together with a wider range of walk-speeds for the characters."

Without further ado, take a closer look at the new poster and pulse-pounding story trailer for The Dark Pictures: Little Hope — as well as over 10 minutes of never-before-seen gameplay footage — down below:
