ASSASSIN'S CREED VALHALLA Will Make Its Debut on November 17, Ubisoft Accidentally Reveals

According to a now-deleted Instagram post published by Ubisoft, Assassin's Creed Valhalla will release on November 17, 2020, a mere two days before the long-awaited launch of CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077.

Although the post itself has since been removed, you can watch a mirrored version of the video ad — which features brief snippets of never-before-seen gameplay footage — on Reddit (thanks to Redditor pipos666).

Considering that Cyberpunk 2077 might very well break several sales records and have one of the biggest launches in the history of entertainment, the decision to release Assassin's Creed Valhalla that same week is simply confusing (and if anyone believes it's a good idea, remember what happened to Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands, a neat title that made its debut on the same day [May 18, 2010] as Red Dead Redemption).

Ubisoft's release strategy is quite bizarre, but it's good to know that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will arrive this holiday season as initially planned, despite the fact that the new sandbox recently lost its creative director.

With the Ubisoft Forward conference beginning in less than 24 hours, the company will definitely officially reveal Assassin's Creed Valhalla's release date — along with new images, details, and footage — later today.

Become a legendary Viking warrior raised on tales of battle and glory. Raid your enemies, grow your settlement, and build your political power in the quest to earn a place among the gods in Valhalla. Advanced RPG mechanics allow you to shape the growth of your character and influence the world around you. With every choice you make, from political alliances and combat strategy to dialogue and gear progression, you will carve your own path to glory.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is coming to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Google Stadia, and PC (via Uplay and the EGS) this holiday season.
