DESTINY 2 Players Will Have to Wait Until November to Discover What Lies BEYOND LIGHT
Bungie has some disappointing news for all fans of 2017's looter shooter Destiny 2, as its recently revealed expansion — titled Destiny 2: Beyond Light — has been delayed and will now be released on November 10.
Considering that Bungie's Destiny 2: Beyond Light was originally supposed to make its debut on September 22, we're talking about a rather large setback that is a direct result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
"The past few months have been a challenge and will continue to be during this pandemic," the studio explained on the game's website. "We’ve learned to create together in a new way, by having to work apart from one another. Despite these hurdles, we’re still committed to the same level of quality that our fans expect." Although Destiny 2: Beyond Light will no longer launch in September, Bungie remains committed to delivering a superb experience that will set the stage for an "incredible future in Destiny 2."
With Destiny 2: Beyond Light facing a delay, Bungie has decided to extend the ongoing Season of Arrivals to November 10. Thankfully, the original Halo makers will self-publish the DLC, so they can take the time to make sure that Beyond Light is "the coolest, most entertaining expansion" they have ever created.
It's worth remembering that the Bellevue-based team at Bungie is simultaneously developing a next-gen port of the fan-favourite FPS that will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X at some point in the future.
