Koei Tecmo has released an intense launch trailer for NiOh 2: The Tengu's Disciple, the critically acclaimed masocore game's first story-driven expansion that puts the spotlight on the final years of the Heian period.
That's right, Team Ninja's fan-favourite sequel to 2017's NiOh has received its first full-blown DLC that is currently available for PlayStation 4 — priced at $14.95. According to the developer, NiOh 2: The Tengu's Disciple allows players to explore a new coastal region of Yashima and learn more about the connection between a legendary whistle — called the Sohayamaru — and the Otakemaru, an all-powerful monster.
The DLC also gives you a chance to put your skills to the test in over 10 challenging missions across three distinct stages, face off against new yokai, never-before-seen versions of old enemies, and unique bosses, master a deadly new weapon — the Splitstaff — and finally unleash truly destructive new guardian spirits.
It's worth remembering that NiOH 2 will get at least three big story expansions, so it's safe to say that fans of the best-selling title — which has already sold well over a million copies worldwide — will have plenty of reasons to keep playing the unforgiving game (and enjoy its ever-evolving mechanics) for months to come.
Without further ado, take a closer look at the release trailer for NiOh 2: The Tengu's Disciple down below:
