Tinybuild Games Shares Pulse-Pounding Launch Trailer for HELLPOINT; Switch Port Has Been Delayed
Publisher Tinybuild Games has released an action-packed launch trailer for the long-delayed Hellpoint, a new masocore game that is now available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam, GOG & the EGS).
Unfortunately, it seems that Hellpoint is not what many fans of the evergreen genre had been waiting for, as the title is currently sitting at a rather mediocre 62% score on Metacritic, with many critics complaining about its almost non-existent story, uninspired gameplay, and a general lack of original ideas and features.
What's even worse, the newly released game's Nintendo Switch version that was supposed to make its long-awaited debut today, on the 30th of July, has been delayed, and will now hit stores at some point this year.
"Our goal is to make the Switch port as high quality as possible, and polishing it to the desired state will require more time," the Quebec City–based game developer explained in a statement. "We do not want to take a risk of releasing a product that we and you, our players, might not be satisfied with. As you all know, adapting a game of Hellpoint‘s size and complexity for Nintendo Switch is pretty challenging, especially for a small team such as ours, and especially under the current circumstances."
Although Nintendo fans will have to wait to play the brand-new masocore game a little longer, the good news is that the title's Switch port will be "completely on par with Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions."
Without further ado, check out the intense launch trailer for Cradle Games' take on Dark Souls down below:
Hellpoint is an intense action RPG taking place on Irid Novo, a derelict space station soaked in an intoxicating dark sci fi atmosphere. Fight dreadful creatures, face the Cosmic Gods and unravel their twisted story. Should the challenge be too great, play with a friend in local or online coop.
Hellpoint is currently available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (via Steam, GOG, and the EGS), its Nintendo Switch port will launch later this year.
