Robert Lewandowski and LUST FROM BEYOND Team Are Working on Original Sports Games
In a somewhat strange turn of events, Poland's top footballer Robert Lewandowski and Movie Games — the publisher of Drug Dealer Simulator and Lust from Beyond — are officially working on new sports games.
You read that right, the award-winning Bayern Munich striker has agreed to acquire a minority interest in the Polish company's newly created — yet unnamed — studio focused solely on high-profile titles about sports.
"I'm doing my best to keep up with technological advancements, I gladly use them on a daily basis," the internationally renowned footballer — with over 30 million fans on social media channels, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok — said (translated by GX). "I've been following the technology industry — including the gaming industry — for a good while now, and I see its enormous potential. Working with Movie Games will also give me a chance to shine a light on football from the inside."
According to the Warsaw-based studio, Lewandowski will actually help the team bring their games to life. Reportedly, the footballer (and celebrity) will be a creative consultant on Movie Games' upcoming projects who will make sure that their original takes on the colourful world of football are as realistic as possible.
"The vast majority of games about football are focused on these crucial 90 minutes," Co-Owner Filip Szklarzewski added. "We want to put the spotlight on what happens before the main event." The CEO also revealed that the studio's games will be inspired by ESPN and Netflix's documentary The Last Dance.
Considering that the Polish game developer won't open its doors until September, it's safe to say that it will be a good while before we learn anything new about Lewandowski and Movie Games' first joint production.
