MICROSOFT FLIGHT SIMULATOR and THE LAST OF US PART II Are Best-Reviewed Games of 2020 So Far

The review embargo for Asobo Studio's Microsoft Flight Simulator has now lifted, and it turns out that the fast-approaching simulator is currently the best-reviewed PC game since... Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto V.

You read that right, Microsoft Flight Simulator — which will finally arrive on Steam and the Microsoft Store tomorrow, August 18, 2020 — is sitting at a near-perfect 94% score on Metacritic right now, making it the most acclaimed PC title since 2015 — the year the PC edition of Grand Theft Auto V (96%) made its debut.

Considering that Persona 5 Royal (95%) is an enhanced version of the 2017 RPG, Microsoft Flight Simulator is actually the highest-rated new game of 2020, matching The Last of Us Part II's great "Critics Score" of 94%.

Taking into account that this year is jam-packed with well-received video games — including Half-Life: Alyx (93%), F1 2020 (91%), Animal Crossing: New Horizons (90%), and Ori and the Will of the Wisps (90%), the fact that a Microsoft production could very well end up being 2020's GOTY is a very unexpected turn of events.

With Microsoft Flight Simulator launching tomorrow, take a look at its beautiful release trailer down below:

From light planes to wide-body jets, fly highly detailed and accurate aircraft in the next generation of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Test your piloting skills against the challenges of night flying, real-time atmospheric simulation and live weather in a dynamic and living world.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming to PC (via Steam) on August 18, 2020.
