PRINCE OF PERSIA REMAKE Will Almost Definitely Be Shown Off at Next Ubisoft Forward Show

It looks like the long, long wait is finally coming to an end, as Ubisoft will almost definitely showcase the first big Prince of Persia game since 2010's The Forgotten Sands at next week's Ubisoft Forward digital event.

During yesterday's Triple Click podcast, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier —  who has proven himself to be a very reliable source in recent months — confirmed that the publisher is indeed planning to announce the highly anticipated next entry in the Prince of Persia series this Thursday, September 10. As a reminder, Ubisoft will also reveal a different new title at the second Ubisoft Forward show (could it be a brand-new Splinter Cell?).

Although the fact that Prince of Persia will make a return is fantastic news for all fans of the beloved IP, those who expect a huge Resident Evil 2–like re-imagining may want to keep their expectations in check, as Prince of Persia Remake will reportedly be a 2D platformer in the same vein as Jordan Mechner's original games.

Quite interestingly, Ubisoft has already created a remake of the 1989 platformer — Prince of Persia Classic.

It's worth remembering that Prince of Persia Remake won't be the only long-awaited video game showcased at next-week's Ubisoft Forward, as the French publisher will also reveal some new details about Watch Dogs Legion, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Roller Champions, and Immortals Fenyx Rising during the upcoming show.
