Brand-New Journey Begins on KENA: BRIDGE OF SPIRITS–Themed Cover of Game Informer
There's no denying that Kena: Bridge of Spirits is shaping up to be one of the most unique action-adventure games of 2020, and if you want to learn more about its core feautres, Game Informer has got you covered.
Although Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a cross-gen game — which is heading to PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (via the Epic Games Store) — studio Ember Lab is still planning to put the raw power of PS5 to good use.
According to Chief Operating Officer Josh Grier, Kena: Bridge of Spirits' PS5 port will feature not only way more realistic and dense environments, but also minimal (maybe even almost non-existent) loading times.
"They have a whole thing set up where you can do transition and it’s very nice, but frankly it doesn’t have time to play the animation. It just loads the game so fast," he said. "We’ve been on development on PS4 for most of the project, and squeezing it and getting the performance that we wanted out of it was a nightmare. But having done all that, when we went to PS5 it was nice, because we had a good baseline and then we could just add to it and take advantage of the extra juice.” According to Grier, the next-gen port of Kena: Bridge of Spirits will need less than 2 seconds to launch from the PS5 system menu.
Considering that Kena is the main star of this month's Game Informer — and will launch later this year — it's safe to say that we will learn a lot more about the Orange-based team's debut project in the coming weeks.
