PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE SANDS OF TIME REMAKE Reveal Trailer Was Reportedly Captured on Nintendo Switch
The Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake reveal trailer left a sour taste in everyone's mouth, as it's become clear that the title's scale won't be comparable to 2019's Resident Evil 2 or Final Fantasy VII Remake.
According to Indian YouTuber Lazy Assassin, the divisive trailer was captured on the Nintendo Switch, which would explain why the character models and lightning looked so plain and just a bit too last-gen to be taken seriously. Considering that he had shared accurate details about Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake long before the company officially revealed the game last Thursday, chances are that he's onto something.
What's even more interesting, the French company has not even announced the remake's Switch version yet — although its existence was spoiled by a Guatemalan retail site called MAX in August, and it even briefly appeared on the Ubisoft Store during the post-show of the second Ubisoft Forward event. Furthermore, industry insider Daniel Ahmad has hinted at the possibility of the port launching sometime in the future.
As a friendly reminder, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Game Director Pierre-Sylvain Gires recently revealed that the teams at Ubisoft Mumbai and Pune are listening to players' (seemingly mostly negative) feedback and are doing their best to fix the most glaring issues with the controversial art style.
Considering that Ubisoft India has over 4 months to make sure that their biggest project to date lives up to the legacy of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, it could be a while before we learn more about the remake.
Embark on a journey as the Prince to prevent the powerful Sands of Time from falling into the hands of the treacherous Vizier. Master the Sands of Time and use your dagger to control time itself. Fight cursed enemies and solve puzzles along the way. Experience the original epic tale of the Prince on his journey for redemption. Travel back in time with the return of the Prince's original voice actor, Yuri Lowenthal, and discover a brave new Farah.
Prince of Persia - The Sands of Time Remake is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC (via Uplay and the EGS) on January 21, 2021.
