The team at Sony has released over four minutes of amazing gameplay footage from the next-gen remake of FromSoftware's acclaimed Demon's Souls, one of the best-reviewed (and first) masocore titles in history.
Developed by SIE Japan Studio (The Last Guardian, Gravity Rush 2) and Bluepoint Games (Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, 2018's Shadow of the Colossus), the remake is shaping up to be one of the most promising PS5-exclusive games on the horizon, as it promises to be a truly thrilling and fresh experience.
The new version of Demon's Souls will definitely look like a modern game, but the teams are also doing their best to capture the dark spirit of the 2009 hit. "It was essential to us that we recreated Demon’s Souls in such a way that longtime fans are transported back to the Boletaria they love," Creative Director Gavin Moore said. "It’s the Boletaria that has been growing and maturing in their imaginations for over a decade. A place where every room [...] and corridor has a story to tell. Here, the original characters, encounters and battles are brought to life in greater fidelity, making the story richer and darker."
Unfortunately, not everything is just sunshine and rainbows, as the unique remake will be priced at $69.99. Demon's Souls is not the only major video game that will launch alongside PS5, as Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales will also make its long-awaited debut on November 12 (although it will cost "only" $49.99).
Although the fact that the remake of FromSoftware's original is almost here is definitely good news, it's safe to say that Sony's decision to rise the price for its exclusive productions will leave a bad taste in fans' mouth.

From Japan Studio and Bluepoint Games comes a remake of the PlayStation classic, Demon’s Souls. In addition to beautiful shadow effects and ray tracing, players can choose between two graphics modes while playing: one focused on fidelity, and one focused on frame rate.
Demon's Souls is coming to PlayStation 5 on November 12, 2020.
