As hard as this is to believe, the next major entry in the fan-favourite Oddworld franchise — titled Oddworld: Soulstorm — will finally arrive on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC (only via the EGS) sometime this year.
Although the sequel to 2014's Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty! was announced a good while ago, it seems that the team at Oddworld Inhabitants is finally getting ready to talk more about their all-new cross-gen production.
"All of our games, including Oddworld: Soulstorm are fun, story-driven adventures but our games possess underlying philosophical dilemmas that are relevant to our complicated world, its societal pressures, and the struggles we endure in our efforts to survive our human condition," Oddworld Inhabitants Co-Founder and Creative Director Lorne Lanning told the PS Blog. "And like all our games, our challenging philosophies are presented with a little humor and a lot of hope that if someone like Abe can spark change, so can you. We look forward to sharing our release date [...] very, very soon."
For those unfamiliar with Oddworld: Soulstorm, the game tells the story of Abe, a young hero who embarks on a dangerous journey to free his brainwashed kind and put an end to Molluck the Glukkon's shady plans.
