Polish game developer and publisher Bloober Team (Blair Witch, Observer: System Redux) has shared a jaw-dropping story trailer for The Medium, shining a light on Marianne's quest to come to terms with her grief.
In The Medium, players will have a chance to embark on a dangerous adventure beyond the boundaries of the known universe, as the titular heroin's interdimensional powers allow her to explore a dark, terrifying world — inspired by Zdzisław Beksiński's disturbing works — to solve the mystery of a child's murder.
During her journey, Marianne will face not only her biggest fears, but also The Maw, a monster representing her helplessness. Quite interestingly, he's portrayed by Troy Baker (Marvel's Avengers, The Last of Us Part II).
Considering that The Medium will finally arrive on Xbox Series and PC (via Steam and the EGS) this holiday season, it's safe to say that Bloober will share new details about their next big thing in the very near future.
Without further ado, take a look at the action-packed story trailer for the Silent Hill successor down below:
Become a medium living in two worlds: the real and the spirit one. Haunted by a vision of a child’s murder, you travel to an abandoned hotel resort, which years ago became the stage of an unthinkable tragedy. There you begin your search for difficult answers. As a medium with access to both worlds, you have a wider perspective and can see more clearly that there’s no one simple truth to what others perceive. Nothing is what it seems, everything has an other side.
The Medium is coming to Xbox Series X and PC (via Steam and the EGS) this holiday season.
