King Arthur: Knight's Tale is a new turn-based strategy game / RPG hybrid that will allow you to gather your own Knights of the Round Table and explore a dark, ruined world where the titular king is an undead beast.
The newly revealed title is being developed by NeocoreGames, the Budapest-based video game developer responsible for many fan-favourite titles, including Crusaders: Thy Kingdom Come, King Arthur - The Role-Playing Wargame, The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing II, and Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr.
King Arthur: Knight's Tale is coming to PC (via Steam) in Q1 2021 — so sometime between the beginning of January and end of March of next year — with its PlayStation 5 & Xbox Series ports debuting at a later date.
"Knight’s Tale tells a stand-alone story and it is totally understandable without being familiar with any of our previous King Arthur games," Community Manager Tender said. "Those games were set in the warring realm of mystical Britannia and depicted the rise and the conquests of the Once and Future King. Knight’s Tale is set after the last battle in Britannia and the story is tied to the mystical island of Avalon. It includes all major characters, factions, mythical creatures and tropes from our own Arthurian mythology, but places them into a brand new environment," the developer added.
Although the new King Arthur title is in an advanced stage of development, NeocoreGames needs a hand to actually finish it. If you want to support the studio, be sure to visit their Kickstarter and help the team reach their $150,000 goal. The backers will also receive an exclusive beta key in late November or early December.
